Starting with the third quarter of 2014, the penalty for late payroll tax payments will increase from 10% to 15%.

The penalty for late filing a DE 9, Quarterly Contribution Return and Report of Wages, or DE 9C will increase from $10 to $20 per unreported employee, and the penalty for not filing these forms electronically when required will also increase from $10 to $20 per unreported employee.
